The space

Welcome to our luxurious Grand Loft, a chic and comfortable retreat. As you enter, you’ll be greeted by soaring ceilings, wood floors, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lake.

The Master bedroom boasts unique barn doors opening onto the beautiful living area below, a luxurious king bed, and a cozy electric fireplace sitting area. The Master loft also has a round pedestal table and chairs and a dream en-suite with a soaker tub and spacious waterfall shower.

The Canter room has a tranquil ambiance with a white horse mural and its own private full ensuite. The Canter room features deluxe bedding on a comfortable queen bed and closet space.

Relax in the living room, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and leather sectional couch, or prepare a meal in the enormous kitchen with its gas stove and 10′ fir slab bar with stools. When it’s time to dine, gather around the stunning live edge hand-hewn fir dinner table.

Step outside onto the private mountain/lake view balcony and unwind in the jacuzzi hot tub for two. Our home also features a washer/dryer and keyless code lock for your convenience.

While the railroad tracks run right in front of the suite, with trains passing by a couple of times a day, most guests find this interesting and no problem at all. The trains run fairly slow and don’t usually honk on this end of town. The tracks run all along the lake, and therefore the train can also be heard through much of the town.

Experience the beauty, comfort, and convenience of our gorgeous Grand Loft.

The Pinnacle PAC promise:

  • Great Turn Around
  • Accessibility
  • Fixed Pricing

We believe that accounting is about much more than the numbers, and that to grow local businesses and economies, we must support and encourage culture and community.

Pinnacle PAC wants to help our community prosper economically through successful enterprise and spiritually through artistic endeavour.  We believe our own business can contribute to the economic and social well-being of our community by nurturing start-up enterprises, coaching existing businesses, providing low-cost services to non-profits, offering secure, well-paid and meaningful work to our team members, setting a good example of best practices and technological innovation and supporting local artists and food providers.

Our passion at Pinnacle PAC is helping people succeed. Our clients tell us they value our relationship because we translate technical matters into plain English they can understand and use. We believe the accountant should be a  coach, cheerleader and peer rather than simply the scorekeeper. We believe professionals should charge a fair price for the value provided to the client and that value is not a function of time spent. We believe an accounting office can be a fun and creative place for the team members and an open and non-threatening environment for clients.

A successful enterprise is one that exists to serve the objectives of the proprietor. Too often, the proprietor ends up chained to her own business with a lunatic for a boss. How does this happen? Can it be avoided? Can it be changed? We can help small business owners to identify their personal objectives and then take action to achieve them through the operation of their businesses.

We want to empower small business owners to help themselves – to understand their business, understand their financial position, measure their growth, interpret their financial results, build their operating systems, improve their teams and make themselves better leaders and community members to the enrichment of our whole region.

The Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences (KCCIHS), formerly the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS), is a well-established school with over 20 years of Private Training Institutes Branch (PTIB) accreditation. This standing means that our programs, instructors, and facilities are all government-approved and regulated and that our students are eligible for student loans. Our Traditional Chinese Medicine graduates have successful practices all over the world and KCCIHS is renowned for its comprehensive educational programs and its rigorous academic standards.

The Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences is located in the heart of the Kootenay Columbia region of BC , Canada.  Offering courses in Traditional Chinese Medicine,  Registered Massage Therapy, and a Holistic Nutrition Program, it is the only institution of its kind in the area.

At KCCIHS our programs are distinct and demonstrate a multi-disciplinary approach to health and healthcare. Students enrolled in all of our programs benefit from exposure to guest lectures,  informal discussion, shared classes in professional development, research, business practice, and  treatments  from faculty and students enrolled in complementary disciplines. This type of education reflects the modern popularity of multi-disciplinary clinics  and creates practitioners who have a natural awareness and understanding of other disciplines.

For over 20 years the college operated as ACOS, with its specific focus on Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2017 the college recently expanded to include a Registered Massage Therapy Program and a Holistic Nutrition Program. KCCIHS will continue to diversify its health education offerings over the next few years.

KCCIHS now has 3 central locations in downtown Nelson, the historic Baker Street Nelson Trading Company and Burns buildings, and the modern facility at the Nelson Commons adjacent to the new Kootenay Co-op Store.

Make A Change Canada was established in 2005 as a national nonprofit and charitable organization that provides employment and skills training to Canadians who face challenges in finding or maintaining employment in today’s labour market.  We are accredited (since 2015) through the Imagine Canada Standards Program, one of just over 200 charitable organizations in Canada to have achieved this important standing.  Make A Change Canada is exempted from certification under the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB), Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training, and is a certified educational institution under Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).  This means we are authorized to provide students with T2202A certificates to claim a tuition tax credit.  Make A Change Canada has assisted hundreds of individuals in the local community to attain the skills they need to move on to meaningful careers and increased earnings.  The net benefit extends to our clients’ families, to local businesses requiring employees with essential technology skills, and to the local economy.  Help us celebrate our upcoming 15-year anniversary when we host the Montreal Canadiens Alumni in a charity fundraising game this January 23, 2020.  We’ll be celebrating “The Canadian Way of Life!”

CHAI Canadian Health Advocates Inc. has a transparent background.jpg

PAIGE LENNOX RN, BSN

Patient Advocate/ Healthcare Navigator

The healthcare system is overstretched and truth be told sometimes people fall through the cracks.

Everyone has heard stories of people who get lost in the system.

Have you ever wondered… is there a way to stop this from happening?

That is why CHAI exists.

CHAI stands for Canadian Health Advocates Inc. and represents a national network of Health Advocates.

Health Advocates – also known as Patient Advocates- navigate the healthcare system with patients and caregivers so that people don’t fall through the cracks.

CHAI Advocates are professionals with extensive nursing, paramedicine, social work or medical backgrounds.

Our Advocates have deep experience and expertise in the Canadian healthcare system, so we know and understand its intricate workings.

We know what questions to ask and whom to ask. As a result, we are uniquely positioned to help people navigate an often confusing system.

Every patient deserves to receive the best possible care.

My passion for Advocacy is a direct result of professional and personal experience.

For 25 years I witnessed how patient care is affected by stretched resources and overworked healthcare professionals. I should know. I was one of them.

When my own mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness everything became more obvious. As a result of that experience I realized thousands of canadians experience this every day… and who is there to help them?

Again, this is why CHAI exists.

So specifically how do we help?

It breaks down into practical support, emotional support and empowerment.

Here are a few examples:

Practical Support

  • Attending doctors appointments
  • Coaching about your current condition, medical jargon, Advance Care Planning
  • Support with complicated paperwork- for example CPP Disability Forms
  • Helping with Discharge Planning from hospital to home or residential care

Emotional Support can take the form of…

  • Reducing patient & caregiver stress
  • Making sure the patient is heard

CHAI helps Empower Patients & Caregivers

  • For example: supporting patients to advocate for themselves

CHAI also supports your doctors in providing you great care.

Our overstretched healthcare system often leaves doctors short of time and resources.

Hospital capacity in Canada is 125%- that means there are 5 people for every 4 beds in the Canadian healthcare system. And the situation is only going to get worse.

Baby Boomers- the largest cohort in human history peaks in 5 years. So who knows how many people will be needing those 4 beds!

So having a Health Advocates in your corner could make all the difference.
