Catskiing, powder snow, skiing, snowboarding! The snow days are spent in the famous steep tree glades of the Selkirks. On sunny days we move topside to vast alpine bowls rivaled by few catskiing operations or resorts anywhere.
Valhalla guests typically clock 7 to 13 runs a day, or 13,000 to 18,000 ft of vertical. Runs vary from 1200 – 3000 ft, taking advantage of the best snow and fun factor available on the mountain each day. The ride between runs allows you just enough time to share stories of the awesome turns you just had, while snacking on Carolyn’s delectible homemade delights!
We run two snowcats in our 21,500 acres of terrain ( twice the size of Whistler Blackhomb combined!) each carrying 12 guests and 2 guides. Regardless of weather, the snowcats allow us to ride limitless fresh lines all day – everyday.
Carved out of the forested upland above Kootenay Lake, our unique 18-hole layout offers well-maintained fairways and undulating greens to challenge any skill level. Created by Canada’s foremost golf course architect, Les Furber, the Balfour Golf Course boasts a 6,800 yard, 18-hole layout with features you would expect only from a premium-rated golf experience while maintaining its small town feel that is so coveted in the Kootenay region.
