Arrowhead Farm is situated on a quiet road, away from the highway, but easy access from town.
BioBio Suite is on the first floor. There are no steps from the parking to the suite and none within. The main suite is occupied by the owner. There is no overlap of living areas ensuring peace and privacy for both. BioBio suite has its own entrance and a fenced in yard separate from the yard of the main house. It has a lovely private patio.
BioBio Guest House has its own driveway and parking area and is very private. There are steps both outside and within the house. There is a beautiful flagstone patio with garden furniture and access to the natural swimming pools.
Both are built with low VOC paints and natural finishes, wood, stone and are equipped with Heat Return Ventillators for the best air quality and energy efficiency.

In the area:
We are located 10 min by car from Nelson. In the summer time many Nelsonites use Blewett Rd as their biking trail. It is 30 min by bike to Nelson and 50 ( or more) min back, as we are uphill from town. There is also a city bus that stops in front of the farm on request. Going to town by bike and taking a bus back saves you an uphill ride.

Whtewater Ski resort, 30 min by car, famous for its champagne powder. Nelson was voted The Best Ski Town in North America by Powder Magazine.

We are located on Svoboda Road, 2.4 kms from the city of Nelson. Svoboda Road is home to many popular mountain biking trails of all levels. From our beautiful glamping sites you can ride out to the trails, already up the mountain. We are surrounded by the West Arm Wilderness Park so it is pristine forest, creeks and hiking trails also all around us. Being 10 minutes from Nelson also opens up all the amenities of this lovely town…biking/hiking/walking trails at the foot of Svoboda Road that go for miles in either direction; fabulous restaurants, craft breweries, shops, beaches and in non Covid times many festivals and music, and arts events.
We have four 14 foot in diameter domes, each with a twin bed, but room for another twin bed if desired; one 32 foot dome with a queen, and three twin beds; two cabins with queen beds, and a 32 foot travel trailer that is suitable for six people and is self contained with a shower, bathroom, full kitchen. There is a gazebo, full kitchen, three showeres and composting toilets, fire pit for the domes and cabins. All the domes have carpets, dressers, ‘real” beds, linens, towels. We are only filling to 1/2 capacity due to Covid 19 so each group can have their own shower and bathroom. Perfect for mountain bikers, families or a romantic retreat. The property is home to the Martin’s organic farm….full of beautiful flowering gardens, veggies, berries and fruit trees. Quiet, lush, and in the wilderness but close to Nelson.

The completely renovated cabin sleeps 5-6 and has a queen size bed and a double futon couch/bed with an upper bunk in the front view room. There are also two single beds in the loft bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped along with a BBQ. There is a full bathroom with a shower. There is everything that you will need in the cabin including all bedding, linens and towels. There is ample parking and a RV power plugin on the cabin.The 200′ of private lake frontage consists mainly of small, smooth, flat pebbles that are made to skip on the lakes’ surface forever. The beach has a gradual slope into the lake which makes it safer for children. At the beach there is a fire-pit, hammock, tenting spots, horseshoe pitch or try the productive fishing from shore at the mouth of the creek. The cabin is located near the end of a no-thru road and is well away from the main roadway. You will only hear the wind and water as the other properties are well hidden past the trees. The Master bedroom boasts unique barn doors opening onto the beautiful living area below, a luxurious king bed, and a cozy electric fireplace sitting area. The Master loft also has a round pedestal table and chairs and a dream en-suite with a soaker tub and spacious waterfall shower.
The Canter room has a tranquil ambiance with a white horse mural and its own private full ensuite. The Canter room features deluxe bedding on a comfortable queen bed and closet space.
Relax in the living room, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and leather sectional couch, or prepare a meal in the enormous kitchen with its gas stove and 10′ fir slab bar with stools. When it’s time to dine, gather around the stunning live edge hand-hewn fir dinner table.
Step outside onto the private mountain/lake view balcony and unwind in the jacuzzi hot tub for two. Our home also features a washer/dryer and keyless code lock for your convenience.
While the railroad tracks run right in front of the suite, with trains passing by a couple of times a day, most guests find this interesting and no problem at all. The trains run fairly slow and don’t usually honk on this end of town. The tracks run all along the lake, and therefore the train can also be heard through much of the town.

Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation is governed by a group of dedicated volunteers whose purpose is to raise funds for the medical needs of our community hospital. The Board of Directors consists of 12 directors who each serve a 3-year term.
Our directors bring to the Board a variety of backgrounds offering their unique skills and talents to ensure the Foundation’s success.
The Foundation Board is a working Board elected by its members. Directors and members serve on various committees such as the Events Committee, Golf Committee, Community Relations Committee, or the Finance Committee.
All directors and members contribute their time and effort without any payment or benefit other than the satisfaction of contributing to the community.
