The curriculum uses a relational model which emphasizes the therapeutic needs of rural communities, the importance of Indigenous approaches to art therapy and research, and the value of maintaining a sense of connection with the natural world.

KATI offers a host of art therapy services throughout the Kootenays through student clinical placements, the local school districts, and partnerships with local service agencies.
