Thank You To The Community of Businesses and Members
The Board of Directors of the Nelson and District Chamber of Commerce would like to thank our members and many other participating businesses for the ongoing support of the Chamber Gala Dinner and Auction. The generosity of the business community, artisans and all donors is overwhelming. We extend our heartfelt thanks.
This event is the Chamber’s primary fundraiser each year and one of the year’s premier social events. Funds raised from this event go back into the community through our multimedia “Think Local First” shop and buy local marketing campaigns, downtown graffiti removal, beautification, and other economic development projects. In addition, a percentage of the funds will be allocated to community service agencies and nonprofits, including support for Nelson Friends of the Family as they celebrate their 25th year of supporting Nelson families.
Thanks to everyone who attended, Mallory Attorp, Martin Keyserlingk and the incredible faculty and students at the Selkirk College Hospitality and Culinary programs, Chamber staff Mekenzie Coleman, Grace Henecka, Denise McInnes, Matt Popp, Codi Lee Richardson and Tom Thomson as well as auction support staff Bob Hall, Joe Heatherington and Emily Popp, who were instrumental in the success of this year’s event. Thanks to Tamarack Media for the great photos and social media support.
Special thanks to the entire business community of Nelson for their generous donations and for being in business and showing perseverance and commitment to do what it takes to succeed – hiring staff, making payroll, paying the bills, and keeping the doors open day in and day out, year after year – while being so generous to so many fund-raising efforts. Businesses like yours are what make Nelson so special and unique. Think of these businesses and thank them next time you stop in.
