The property has a creek running through it, it is about 20 minutes from the local ski hill, and has a great number of mountain bike trails within close proximity.

The Frog peak cafe opened its doors in the summer of 2005 and has been happily serving the community breakfast and lunch ever since. We strive to support as many local farmers and use fresh ingredients in all of our food.  The frog peak cafe is a busy community hub that also supports a thriving art community with monthly art shows featuring local artists. The 120 year old building is sitting on 1 acer of beautiful gardens with stone patios and a large play area for children. If you are looking for adventure then take our free bikes out for a ride on the rails to trails a beautiful trail meandering along the slocan river that starts right in front of the cafe. KARIBU PARK – is nestled in the picturesque Slocan Valley, in the Selkirk Mountains of the West Kootenays, between Calgary and Vancouver. We are on the pristine Slocan River in the hamlet of Winlaw, centrally located to Valhalla & Kokanee Provincial Parks, and the towns of Nelson, Castlegar and New Denver.

We are a campground for Self-contained RV’s only.  Wireless Internet. No washrooms or showers available.

Our ‘Outdoor Resort’ is literally in the middle of existing activities: Kokanee Glacier Park with short trails and multi day hikes is on our doorstep. Kootenay Lake with great sailing, kayaking, fishing and swimming is right in front of us. Next to our place starts a Wilderness Road, leading to the Six Mile Lakes and the Slocan Valley. And Nelson is only 8 km away.

Kootenai Hideaway is a private lakefront cabin accommodation moments north of Kaslo. Queens Bay Hideaway is a private lakefront cottage just 5 minutes north of Balfour.

The completely renovated cabin sleeps 5-6 and has a queen size bed and a double futon couch/bed with an upper bunk in the front view room. There are also two single beds in the loft bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped along with a BBQ. There is a full bathroom with a shower. There is everything that you will need in the cabin including all bedding, linens and towels. There is ample parking and a RV power plugin on the cabin.The 200′ of private lake frontage consists mainly of small, smooth, flat pebbles that are made to skip on the lakes’ surface forever. The beach has a gradual slope into the lake which makes it safer for children. At the beach there is a fire-pit, hammock, tenting spots, horseshoe pitch or try the productive fishing from shore at the mouth of the creek. The cabin is located near the end of a no-thru road and is well away from the main roadway. You will only hear the wind and water as the other properties are well hidden past the trees. At the end of a day full of Kootenay style adventures, dine at any one of the excellent restaurants or pubs in the area.
