The hot springs were first visited by the Ktunaxa First Nations, who embraced the nupika wu’u or spirit waters for their healing and rejuvenating powers. Enjoy an indigenous inspired meal in the Ktunaxa Grill then retire in comfort to one of our 40 contemporary styled guest rooms. The hot springs are open daily for public enjoyment.
Complimentary hot springs access is included with your stay in the resort. Recent renovations include a lovely entrance in the pool lobby, a large accessible change/washroom and large retail shop. The hot springs pool and caves are also open daily for public enjoyment.
Our resort features three odourless pools: 150 foot horseshoe shaped cave, main hot springs and stream-fed cold plunge. The Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences (KCCIHS), formerly the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS), is a well-established school with over 20 years of Private Training Institutes Branch (PTIB) accreditation. The Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences is located in the heart of the Kootenay Columbia region of BC , Canada. Offering courses in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Registered Massage Therapy, and a Holistic Nutrition Program, it is the only institution of its kind in the area.

The Kutenai Art Therapy Institute (KATI) is dedicated to the belief that the creative process is healing and life enhancing and that the use of the expressive arts can contribute therapeutically to both individual and community health.
Education
KATI offers a two-year diploma program in art therapy.
Students can take the program in one of two formats: on-campus or blended distance. The curriculum uses a relational model which emphasizes the therapeutic needs of rural communities, the importance of Indigenous approaches to art therapy and research, and the value of maintaining a sense of connection with the natural world.
Community
KATI offers a host of art therapy services throughout the Kootenays through student clinical placements, the local school districts, and partnerships with local service agencies.

Make A Change Canada has assisted hundreds of individuals in the local community to attain the skills they need to move on to meaningful careers and increased earnings. There are 2 options for accomodation. A 1 bedroom suite sleeps up to 4 people. BioBIo GUest House has 2 bedrooms, a TV/den, a living room and sleeps 6 people in beds.
Both are lovingly built by a Swiss carpenter using the highest quality eco materials on our organic farm ( Arrowhead Farm). Enjoy the fresh air and space of the country setting only a 10 min drive from downtown Nelson. 30 minutes to Whitewater Ski Resort.
Arrowhead Farm is situated on a quiet road, away from the highway, but easy access from town.
BioBio Suite is on the first floor. There are no steps from the parking to the suite and none within. The main suite is occupied by the owner. There is no overlap of living areas ensuring peace and privacy for both. BioBio suite has its own entrance and a fenced in yard separate from the yard of the main house. It has a lovely private patio.
BioBio Guest House has its own driveway and parking area and is very private. There are steps both outside and within the house. There is a beautiful flagstone patio with garden furniture and access to the natural swimming pools.
Both are built with low VOC paints and natural finishes, wood, stone and are equipped with Heat Return Ventillators for the best air quality and energy efficiency.
Quality furnishings, new memory mattresses, WiFi ( can be turned off on request), washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, TV, Netflix.
While staying at the BioBio Suite or Guest House you will have an option to buy our farm fresh organic produce, Kootenay Local Agricultural Society certified.
Please enquire about our farm/pond permaculture tours and workshops on farm crafts: milking, cheese, butter, sour cream and yoghurt making, sourdough bread baking, fermenting, preserving.
In the area:
We are located 10 min by car from Nelson. In the summer time many Nelsonites use Blewett Rd as their biking trail. It is 30 min by bike to Nelson and 50 ( or more) min back, as we are uphill from town. There is also a city bus that stops in front of the farm on request. Going to town by bike and taking a bus back saves you an uphill ride.
Other destinations:
Whtewater Ski resort, 30 min by car, famous for its champagne powder. Nelson was voted The Best Ski Town in North America by Powder Magazine.
