In August of 2003 the Home Hardware brand in Nelson was expanded with the addition of Nelson Home Building Centre to the well-known Hipperson Home Hardware which has been in existence since 1923. Since 2003 the Building Centre has expanded three times and grown from an initial staff of 8 to a staff of almost 50 people. Home Hardware is a chain of over 1000 stores, each one locally owned and operated.

Local ownership means that we’re going to try harder to satisfy your needs. Being part of a national chain means that we can provide great prices on quality products. Our stores are well known for offering superior customer service along with a great selection of products at prices that compete with the other national chains. Come in and experience what we can do for you!

Stand out and settle in: personalize your space

You’ve finally found the home of your dreams, but interior design-wise, something isn’t quite right. You want your space to feel comfortable, inviting, and inspiring, but you don’t quite know how to improve the energy in your home and preserve your personal aesthetic. After all, you deserve rooms that are an extension of your life and style.

Custom window treatments and soft furnishings like curtains, blinds, and cushions are much the same as the accessories that finish an outfit and take it to the next level. But when it comes to your space, you’re unsure where to start. It’s easy for you to feel overwhelmed when it comes to fabric choices, or stifled by the drab generic options that big-box stores offer—and the least expensive options usually mean you sacrifice quality and durability. You’re tired of suffering in a sad, uninspired, or impersonal living space and you’re ready for an upgrade.

Kootenay Interiors understands that you’re looking for something unique that fits your style. You may already have a vision, and just need the right professional to source, design, and execute from start to finish. Browse our social media channels and check out the online shop, then call or email for a free quote on making your space one-of-a-kind.
