The cozy cottage is at the end of a quiet no-thru road, on the shores of the sheltered Queens Bay, the warmest water in Kootenay Lake laps at this beach. The cottage is 30 minutes between Nelson and Kaslo, and just a few minutes North of the Balfour Ferry Terminal.
The fully equipped cottage has a full kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, microwave and a BBQ. There is a full bathroom with a large shower. Everything that you need will be waiting for you, including all bedding, linens and towels… if there is something more you require, just ask.
Head out and explore what the area has to offer. There are spectacular golf courses just minutes away, or soak in the mineral waters at Ainsworth Hot Springs, spelunk at Cody Caves Provincial Park, hire a fishing charter or hike, mountain bike or zip-line… so many opportunities are nearby so please ask for a “Daytrip Distance and Info sheet” to be sent to you. At the end of a day full of Kootenay style adventures, dine at any one of the excellent restaurants or pubs in the area. Then come home to peace and quiet and an evening of telling stories around your campfire on the beach.

We are located on Svoboda Road, 2.4 kms from the city of Nelson. Svoboda Road is home to many popular mountain biking trails of all levels. From our beautiful glamping sites you can ride out to the trails, already up the mountain. We are surrounded by the West Arm Wilderness Park so it is pristine forest, creeks and hiking trails also all around us. Being 10 minutes from Nelson also opens up all the amenities of this lovely town…biking/hiking/walking trails at the foot of Svoboda Road that go for miles in either direction; fabulous restaurants, craft breweries, shops, beaches and in non Covid times many festivals and music, and arts events.
We have four 14 foot in diameter domes, each with a twin bed, but room for another twin bed if desired; one 32 foot dome with a queen, and three twin beds; two cabins with queen beds, and a 32 foot travel trailer that is suitable for six people and is self contained with a shower, bathroom, full kitchen. There is a gazebo, full kitchen, three showeres and composting toilets, fire pit for the domes and cabins. All the domes have carpets, dressers, ‘real” beds, linens, towels. We are only filling to 1/2 capacity due to Covid 19 so each group can have their own shower and bathroom. Perfect for mountain bikers, families or a romantic retreat. The property is home to the Martin’s organic farm….full of beautiful flowering gardens, veggies, berries and fruit trees. Quiet, lush, and in the wilderness but close to Nelson.

The Frog peak cafe opened its doors in the summer of 2005 and has been happily serving the community breakfast and lunch ever since. We strive to support as many local farmers and use fresh ingredients in all of our food. The frog peak cafe is a busy community hub that also supports a thriving art community with monthly art shows featuring local artists. The 120 year old building is sitting on 1 acer of beautiful gardens with stone patios and a large play area for children. If you are looking for adventure then take our free bikes out for a ride on the rails to trails a beautiful trail meandering along the slocan river that starts right in front of the cafe.
