I have been living in Nelson for 4 years and in the Kootenays for 8 years. I graduated from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2007. Since then I have continued my education focusing on Myofascial release, Craniosacral therapy, Muscle energy techniques, Visceral manipulation, and Joint mobilizations. I have been developing these techniques into a dynamic approach taking into consideration the overlapping of injuries and the compensations a person has acquired in their lifetime. I’m a strong believer through my education and experience the body needs a combination approach of correcting structural alignments and the releasing of soft tissue restrictions. Focusing on these two systems allows for increased mobility and decreased pain. I have recently been hired to teach at the new RMT school opening in Nelson. I’m extremely excited to pass on my experience and knowledge to upcoming registrants. This has become a great opportunity for me to hone my skills and to reflect on what I do and why I do it.
