The cozy cottage is at the end of a quiet no-thru road, on the shores of the sheltered Queens Bay, the warmest water in Kootenay Lake laps at this beach. The cottage is 30 minutes between Nelson and Kaslo, and just a few minutes North of the Balfour Ferry Terminal.
The fully equipped cottage has a full kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, microwave and a BBQ. There is a full bathroom with a large shower. Everything that you need will be waiting for you, including all bedding, linens and towels… if there is something more you require, just ask.
Head out and explore what the area has to offer. There are spectacular golf courses just minutes away, or soak in the mineral waters at Ainsworth Hot Springs, spelunk at Cody Caves Provincial Park, hire a fishing charter or hike, mountain bike or zip-line… so many opportunities are nearby so please ask for a “Daytrip Distance and Info sheet” to be sent to you. At the end of a day full of Kootenay style adventures, dine at any one of the excellent restaurants or pubs in the area. Then come home to peace and quiet and an evening of telling stories around your campfire on the beach.
Located on the shores of Kootenay Lake and only 4 km from Ainsworth Hotsprings. Woodbury Resort really is the “we have it all” destination. The hot springs were first visited by the Ktunaxa First Nations, who embraced the nupika wu’u or spirit waters for their healing and rejuvenating powers. Enjoy an indigenous inspired meal in the Ktunaxa Grill then retire in comfort to one of our 40 contemporary styled guest rooms. The hot springs are open daily for public enjoyment.
Complimentary hot springs access is included with your stay in the resort. Recent renovations include a lovely entrance in the pool lobby, a large accessible change/washroom and large retail shop. The hot springs pool and caves are also open daily for public enjoyment.
Our resort features three odourless pools: 150 foot horseshoe shaped cave, main hot springs and stream-fed cold plunge. Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy the nupika wu’u, or warm mineral waters, much the same as it has for hundreds of years. The completely renovated cabin sleeps 5-6 and has a queen size bed and a double futon couch/bed with an upper bunk in the front view room. There are also two single beds in the loft bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped along with a BBQ. There is a full bathroom with a shower. There is everything that you will need in the cabin including all bedding, linens and towels. There is ample parking and a RV power plugin on the cabin.The 200′ of private lake frontage consists mainly of small, smooth, flat pebbles that are made to skip on the lakes’ surface forever. The beach has a gradual slope into the lake which makes it safer for children. At the beach there is a fire-pit, hammock, tenting spots, horseshoe pitch or try the productive fishing from shore at the mouth of the creek. The cabin is located near the end of a no-thru road and is well away from the main roadway. You will only hear the wind and water as the other properties are well hidden past the trees.
