For over 25 years now, Maglio Building Centre has been providing the Kootenays with a broad selection of quality building supplies and excellent customer service.
The company was founded by Louis Maglio, a carpenter by trade, who was also the Mayor of Nelson between 1966 and 1976. After a decade long commitment as Nelson's Mayor, in 1977 Louis purchased Burns Building Supply, and Maglio Building Centre was born. Acting still as an independent company, we joined with Tim-BR-Mart in 1980, thus providing better buying power and a greater ability to provide customers with the products they want at the right price.
On June 1, 1997 Maglio Buliding Centre expanded into a new location in Trail when Schneiders Building Supply was purchased. The Nelson and Trail stores now offer the convenience of two locations while maintaining the same attention to detail and superior service that customers have come to expect. In fact, in the year 2001, a hidden shopper analysis was done in BC concerning building supply stores and Maglio Building Centre achieved the third highest ranking in the entire province. This is a considerable achievement given the number building supply stores that there are in BC, and one of which we are very proud. It speaks volumes about the quality of our staff, who have embraced the Maglio philosophy that the customer comes first, and we are extremely grateful for their efforts. A company is only as good as the people who who make it work, and our people are the best.
Today, Maglio Building Centre is run by Tony and Dominic Maglio, sons of Louis, who have grown up in the family business and continue the family tradition of excellent customer service. Hard work is one their trademarks, and you can ususally find them in the Nelson store available to help in any way they can. Their brother-in-law, Russ Beauchamp, manages the Trail location.
Between the two Maglio Building Centre locations you can find whatever building supplies you need. They carry everything for any project, large or small, including lumber, plumbing supplies, cabinets, floor coverings, and, of course, tools for every job. Whatever your need, Maglio Building Centre has you covered. In fact, it can truly be said that Maglio Building Centre is the only one-stop building supplier in the Kootenays.
