Peter Moynes For over a decade, Canadian photographer Peter Moynes has been capturing images from around the world.

Moynes’ career has taken him along the backroads of Europe and Asia, all across the urban and rural landscapes of the continental U.S , and throughout Canada, from downtown Toronto to the mountain tops of British Columbia. His work has been defined by purposeful adventure travel, a penchant for innovative light and colour, and an often parched search for fine beverages.

His images can be found internationally in magazine and newspaper titles, hardcover books, commercial and corporate work, and stock agencies.

His commercial clientele includes Nike, Black Diamond Equipment, Elan, Arc’teryx, and O.A.R.S, North America’s largest international river and ocean adventure travel company.

His photojournalist work has appeared in magazines including Powder, Explore, Bike, Paddler, Skier and Ski Canada.

Peter’s most recent contract is with Denmark’s Ministry of Education. His images will be used in textbooks designed for children and teens.

In ’99, Peter Moynes settled in Nelson B.C, turning his lens on the incomparable world just beyond his own backyard and local wildlife — that of both animal and human varieties — within it.

“Nelson has so much to offer” he says. “Not only its natural beauty, but the number of world-class outdoor athletes to work with, all of whom live here to play here. It’s an incredible place to be.”

Moynes is also the publisher and photo editor of Kootenay Mountain Culture, a regional tourism and lifestyle magazine with a distribution of 15,000.
